Today we transplanted the broad beans and peas from the seedling trays into every container we could lay our hands on, planters, plastic buckets, compost bags. What struck me with the incredibly high rate of germination, especially given that the seed trays had been up-ended by a falling branch, the debris left on the ground for a few days, then scooped back into the trays, with little expectation of sucess.


For some reason I feel more confident about the plants in the rigid containers, but we shall see.
