Hard to say how I felt when I woke up at 2.30 this morning, other than I knew today would be very very hard work. Manically packed up the kitchen, soothed by a radio program clearly designed for Mums whose kids cant sleep. By 4.00am Paul had joined me, taking apart the lounge, and dismantling everything that he could. I went out in the garden, took the last crop of peas and beans, and used the soil to make a nice bed for the new owners, something I should have done years ago to use myself. Even the stuff in the garden looked like enough to fill a van.
Our lovely removal men arrived around 7.30am, and started the massive job of loading the 3 lorries they'd brought. Harry decided this was the most fun possible, and carried boxes, but his favourite job was pressing the tail gate button.
Around 1.00, my mobile went, to confirm we had completed - I have never felt so relieved and excited. By 3.00, the vans were fully loaded, and we waved them off, before heading towards the M3, a journey we knew so well, but perhaps were doing for the last time.
Picked up Alfie from school around 7.30, and by 8.00 were in a pretty Italian restaurant in Llandudno. Almost died in the 3 minute wait for the beer to arrive on the table, I have never enjoyed a first sip so much. The adventure had really properly finally begun.
