We left the trailer by the side of the road, with a note, and went off to the garage at Dolydd. They didnt have a recovery trailer, but told us to go to Penygroes and ask for Ian. He turned to work in a wonderful garage that also serviced buses, and we saw a beautiful OB being taken care of. Ian very kindly lent us his car low-loader trailer, which was great fun to pull back to our poorly trailer. There was a winch, and we managed to get the trailer half-way up the ramps, but it wouldnt shift. Along came our knights in shining armour, in the guise of coal merchants, who huffed and puffed, and got the trailer up on the low loader. Thanks Guys.
We headed back home, with the hilux making a dodgy noise, which we hoped was down to the piggy-back trailer. We dropped into see our friend in Dolydd, to show him our load, and see if he could do the welding for us. Unfortunately not, but his nephew is a welder, so we'll be meeting him soon. Here's our ingenious way of unloading (listen out for the guinea fowl who as usual had an opinion to share).
After returning the low-loader, a well earnt cup of tea and home-made chocolate chip cookies, we decided the dodgy noises needing investigating, so we headed off to Dolydd for the third time, to get her fixed up. Just as we were about to turn into the garage, there was an almighty clunk - the rear prop-shaft fell off. Shes nows recieving tlc from the mechanics at Dolydd.
