Our lady Gunea fowl has been behaving very oddly over the last few days. She hasnt come in at night, and we've barely seen her during the day. We are hoping against hope she is sitting on her nest somewhere - they are notorious for chosing inaccessible, un-nestlike places to hatch their babies. We think she is somewhere in this bramble bush, but its too dense to see in. Meanwhile Sir Guneau fowl, previously lord of the manor, is very upset and out of sorts, presumably because hes lost a flat mate and a play mate. But he did put on a beautiful flying display today when I threw out some corn, and he came swooping over from the roof of the chicken house where he was perching. Keep your fingers crossed for us there are no foxes around.
